Judge Judy won't take your shit.

I love court shows. It's probably because I love eavesdropping on other people's dramas, and court shows make it so easy for me to take part. There's tons of court shows to choose from too...the classic People's Court (who now has almost-as-awesome Judge Marilyn Milian..you can tell she knows her shit and she'll explain law stuff to you), Judge Mathis, Judge Joe Brown, Judge Alex (seems like a pervert...he's gross), Divorce Court, Street Court, etc... but the best one, hands down, is Judge Judy.
She can see right through your crap. She gets pissed off at deadbeats. If you're a chick suing a guy for not paying back a loan but you're only worried about it after you broke up, she'll see that you're just being a bitter biatch and set you straight.
She also has some classic lines. "Baloney". "You don't have your listening ears on!". "They don't keep me here because I'm beautiful, they keep me here because I'm smart". "Um is not an answer". I could go on. I think my favorite part is when she goes into her chambers to make a phone call. Imagine you're sitting at home and all of the sudden Judge Judy calls you to confirm something? Amazing.

An overlooked part of the Judge Judy show is Officer Byrd. He's like the go-between for Judy so she doesn't have to see or have contact with the plaintiffs or defendants up close. I wonder if he pays attention to the cases..most of the time he looks like he's daydreaming. I can't blame him, sometimes you can only handle so much blatant stupidity in a day, and he has to witness it day in and day out. He's a man of little words, but his facial expressions say it all. I'd be just as dissed if Byrd gave me a head-shake of disapproval than if Judy were to tell me that I'm stupid. Which she probably would..most people that go on Judy's show are a little off...
I've learned a lot from Judge Judy too. I've learned never to co-sign on a car with ...well pretty much anyone. Don't sleep with a guy that you've loaned money to that has wronged you in the past. Don't bail your ex-boyfriend out of jail for a 3rd time and expect to get paid back when he hasn't paid you back for the other two times--even if he IS your baby daddy.
