There will be no FUF this week. I'm simply too happy.

If you know me at ALL, you'll know that my favorite band of ALL TIME is Foo Fighters. I've seen them almost 20 times, met them on numerous occasions...but yesterday took the cake.
Foo Fighters and Blackberry put on a contest to have Foo Fighters play in your garage, and they did it in 8 cities. The fact that Toronto was even included was a miracle in itself... but I digress. I was so stressed and pissed off about this concert, because it seems like undeserving people always win...maybe that's the band fan elitist coming out in me, but when you've been a fan of a band since it's inception and then you have people winning contests whose favorite song is Monkeywrench or Learn to Fly it makes you a little mental.
Well, I didn't win...but my friend Nick did. Nick is probably the biggest Foo fan that I know, bar none. I helped him get into a "win to get in" show they had here a few years ago, and he always promised he'd repay me....well he did. By inviting me to see the fucking FOO FIGHTERS play in his GARAGE!!
Here is my account of how the day went down. It was probably one of the best days of my life, and I wasn't even the winner.
First of all, I found out on April 2nd that Nick won and that I was invited. It was sooo hard keeping it a secret, but I had to. It was TOP SECRET and Nick could only invite 50 people to attend. If word got out, it would've been a madhouse.
I  don't even know where to start....it was in Milton (Georgetown? wherever). We all met up at this park and then coach busses took us to Nick's place. He has a MASSIVE garage/barn type thing. As the bus pulled up, the band was walking out of the house and Dave and Taylor ran up and started banging on it. Already this was unreal.
We went in the garage and it pretty much started right away. I was expecting them to play the new album and then like 3 other songs since that's what had happened at the 2 other garage gigs, and it started out that way...they played Bridges Burning and Rope...but then they got Nick to PLAY WITH THEM and they did My Hero. When that ended, Nick just started playing All My Life...Dave goes "Oh, really!....OK!" ...so they did that, then there was also Arlandria, Enough Space, Stacked Actors, The Pretender, Long Road to Ruin, Cold Day in the Sun, This is a Call, Everlong, um...shit it's all a blur. During the show Dave said his 2 beer buzz was wearing off and I yelled out "MORE BEER!" and he goes "YES! Thank you Doctor! That'll be $100!" ha.
Afterwards the band came out and signed stuff and hung out, I talked to everyone.
Taylor: I told him how much I loved his last album and that I was at his show, he was like "yeah I want to make more of that!" and I was like..PLEASE DO! Such a nice man.

Chris: He remembered me!!! I mean, I've met him enough that I should hope he would, but it's always nice when it's confirmed. He said he was happy to see my smiling face out there, and we had some chats about facebook and St. Huberts. Again, one of the nicest fucking guys I've ever met, letalone famous guys.

Pat: I told him that I was so happy he was back in the band and he said "Me too!" then I told him about how enjoyable he was to watch in the documentary, and he made a face like "ew", and I was like....isn't it so weird seeing yourself on film? and he was like "I hate it!" so we bonded over that and then I said he was great and he was like "you're great!" and I hugged him and he told me and my bf that we have beautiful teeth. LOL.

Dave: He was being bombarded with people so I only got to get my cd signed and he was JUST about to leave but I NEEDED a pic so I scootched in and was like "one more pic?" and he said OK!....*sigh, cloud 9*, and then I said thank you for playing. They left, and we got back on the coach bus and went home. I've been smiling ever since. I have the best favorite band ever, and the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
