Showing people stuff

Don't you just hate when you really love a TV show, and then when you show it to someone it just happens to be the worst episode of that show?
This happens to me quite often, the earliest I can remember is when I used to watch the epic awesomeness that was "You Can't Do That on Television". Now this show was not educational in the least. Hell, they had a characted named "Barth" who had a diner and kept burgers in his armpits. This is the kinda shit we're dealing with here. Anywho, I watched it one night and my Mom happened to be around so she watched it with me. There was a scene with a mom & dad (the mom always had on rubber gloves) that was incredibly stupid and sexist, and after seeing that my Mom said I wasn't allowed to watch the show anymore. That didn't stop me of course, but I was so pissed that it just happened to be a particularly offensive episode that she happened to catch instead of the mildly offensive normal ones.
This also just happened to me with the show Louie, with the amazing Louis C.K. This man is hilarious, and his show is so different and vulgar and weird, but 100% funny at the same time. I really wanted the boy to like it, so I begged him to watch an episode with me. It just so happened that it was the weirdest, off-base episode I had ever seen of the show, and NOT reflective of what the show is normally. It was just really weird and dark and not even funny. Of course, that had to be the episode we watched. THANKS, WORLD!
