First Peeve: clapping in time with a song.
Why do I hate it? I know...seems like a silly thing to hate...but it makes me feel like its a folk song campfire sing-a-long. Not only that, but the clapping never lasts. No one ever claps throughout the whole song. If you can't commit, then don't start in the first place! Geez. Clap when the song is over unless you're at a Stompin' Tom concert. (Or would you stomp at a Stompin' Tom concert?) Either way. Annoying.

Second Peeve: Call & Answer. I was looking for a YouTube of this so that you'd know what I'm talking about but I gave up since sometimes finding something specific on YouTube is like trying to find that one hair thats pulling too much in your ponytail. Call & Answer is when the singer in the band you're watching goes "Heeeeeyyyyyooooooo" and then the crowd copies back and goes "Heeeeyyyyyoooo" or whatever fucking stupid sound or noise the singer is doing. This can go on for minutes/hours, especially if you're at a Police or Green Day concert. It's super annoying when the singer will do like a super crazy long up and down "heyyyyAYYYYYYAYYAYAYAYAYooooooollllllloooooloooooo" and there's just no way anyone can copy what they just did but dammit, people still try and it sounds like a stupid drunk mess and it's like I want to yell "SHUT UP AND ROCK". Seriously.
Third Peeve: People at an intimate live event laughing WAY TOO HARD at jokes the artist is making. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud (or sometimes it takes very little) but I don't laugh for show. Sometimes I'll be at these things and someone in the band will be like "Hello Toronto! Wow you guys are a great crowd, much better than those weirdos in Montreal" and really...that's not funny...but people in the audience are laughing like they are from the Footloose town except instead of dancing being banned, its comedy, and they were just all shown the way to enlightenment by Kevin Bacon making a fart joke. It's not like if you don't laugh HARD at everything they say that they won't come back. It's so cheesy and makes me feel surrounded by losers.
HA HA!!!! :-|

Less talk, more song.
ReplyDeleteLol...shut up and rock. And ps - fart jokes are the keys to enlightenment...and bathroom humor is the doorway to zen.
