Weird Al inadvertently ruined The Offspring for me.

I love Weird Al. I always have. I loved when Much Music would play AL TV which was basically 8hrs of Weird Al. He's hilarious. My friend Sasha used to say I was the female Weird Al, but I don't think it was because I was a comic & musical genius, I think it was mostly because I was a shagga with glasses and bushy hair....but that's beside the point.
In the 90's, I was really into both Weird Al and The Offspring. Smash was a sick album. People would write off The Offspring because they "sold out" or whatever, but can you really hate a band for trying to make a living? Seriously. Anyhoo. When Americana came out, that's when I started to notice that the vocals sounded uncannily like Weird Al. Once it was in my head, I couldn't get it out. Everytime I listened to post-Smash Offspring, I could only hear Weird Al. That was the end of that!
