I FINALLY HAD ONE!!! The KFC Double Down. I was so excited about it that I made it an event in Outlook. Ever since I heard about it I've been wanting to try one. If you live under a rock, the KFC Double Down is basically a 'sandwich' but instead of bread or a bun it's a sandwich made out of chicken, with bacon and cheese inside.
They didn't have it in Canada for the longest time, but today was the day it arrived. It's all anyone is talking about on the radio. My friend and I drove to a KFC by work and it was papered up and obviously closed down...yet there was still a lady outside of it just staring at the door like she thought maybe there were still people inside ready to sell her one of these damn sandwiches. PEOPLE ARE JUST THAT EXCITED!!!
So what was it like?
SALTY AS FUCK. That was the first thought that registered in my mind. Damn it was salty!! There is no reason for it to be so salty. Other than that, it was pretty good, and this is coming from someone who only likes solitary bacon (mixing meats is...gross). I wish the salt taste wasn't so overwhelming because thats the only memory I have of it. Oh well. I'll probably never get one again, it was just a fun, one-time greasy endeavor.
Now I just have to wait an hour for the KFC remorse to set in....ugh.
Wait! Fat Tuesday on a Monday? I feel time getting all warpy. Maybe it's just the magnets, at least thats how I think they work. Tee hee.
